Denny Mishler

Denny Mishler is a musician and producer from Las Vegas, NV. Mishler has aquired years of live performing, studio session experience and an education in music and has been featured in many major publications including Guitar Player Magazine (April '05).

In 2000, at only 18 years old, his first solo album and subsequent single of the same title, Last Rain (crediting Mishler as the producer and performer of every instrument) sky-rocketed to number 3 on the Instrumental Rock Charts at MP3.com, all the while performing with his local cover band.

In 2003, after spending some time in New York recording with the now defunct band, Badwater, Denny shared the stage with 80's metal giants, Quiet Riot, in front of a crowd of more than 5,000 people. The same year, he won the award for Northern Nevada's 'Best Guitarist' at the 2003 Stockmen's Battle of the bands in Elko, NV with his longtime friends and band at the time, Damn Skippy.

Denny recently joined the up-and-coming band band from Las Vegas, A Penny for Jane.

In less than six months, A Penny for Jane has already garnered a slew of local and national press and has shared the stage with national acts such as Lifehouse, Colbie Caillat, Vanessa Carleton and Fuel.

The music of A Penny for Jane has appeared on the WB, ABC, CBS, NBC, and Lifetime on shows like Smallville, The OC, Threat Matrix, and America's Top Model. A Penny for Jane is currently in the studio with veteran musician and producer Mike Marsh (Dashboard Confessional, The Agency, founder of Perch Records) and will soon follow it's national EP release with a West Coast Tour in Summer 2008.

"On his current demo, Mishler plays a variety of styles—showing influences such as Joe Satriani and Dimebag Darrell—and offers a burning unaccompanied solo. Armed with impressive speed-picking and arpeggio skills, Mishler tempers his over-the-top chops with well-crafted melodies and interesting compositions." - Guitar Player Magazine

Jody Dawkins

Born into a family with a rich musical tradition. Both his mother's and father's family have extensive musical training and performance time. It's no wonder that he soaked up a love music at an early age. Some of his earliest memories are of preparing and performing on stage. Later he began to take an interest in the structure and composition of music. He satisfied this interest with study of music theory; "something from I continue to benefit to this day!" says Jody.

The path that leads to his bass playing today was not a straight one. At age 15 his father needed a bass player and insisted heI learn. With only the most minimum of instruction he set off on his journey of bass playing. Because he played at his fathers insistence he didn't appreciate the instrument. It wouldn't be until ten years later, out of the house of his father that I would come to appreciate this remarkably versatile instrument. Jody says, "Today you can find me taking every chance I get listening to and emulating great bass players. I love to play and I love to entertain. There's nothing better than getting on stage with good friends, making great music, and watching people have a fantastic time!"

Among bass players his influences are common. Nevertheless, you can find in each one of them specific characteristics that have come to shape his style.
Here is Jody's list::

Flea - The first time I heard Flea play I knew I wanted to sound like that. He had a funky yet melodic style that was both grooving and lyric. This continues to be a staple of my playing even today.

Marcus Miller - As I furthered my music education I fell in love with Jazz. Marcus introduced me to a world where you could both groove with aggressive, pounding rhythms and play the most entertaining and interesting improvisations. It's an ideal I chase to this very day.

Victor Wooten - I'll never forget the first time I heard Victor. I couldn't believe one man could make all that sound out of one instrument! Victor continues to inspire me to look for new ways express ideas on the bass.

Jaco Pastorious - I discovered Jaco late in my bass playing carrer. At first blush he's difficult to appreciate. Slowly, I learned to appreciate his genius. Jaco's recordings and character inspire me to find ways to take things over the edge into new places; to never be satisfied with the same ol' stuff; to constantly look for improvement.
